Description: This technical area will cover methods for
personalizing information. The readings will include text retrieval
methods, techniques from specific personal information systems, and
collaborative information filtering techniques.
Written Requirement: The written requirement for this area will consist of
a take-home exam of approximately three questions whose answers will require
a good grasp of the text retrieval methods and techniques for personalizing
information, to be evaluated by Walter Bender.
Note: readings in green are readings not in
the official, signed proposal, but which I discovered later and think would
be of interest to others.
